Please use the online application form
if you have interest in being considered for any of our future litters. And we recommend reading the following before filling
one out!
Please READ:
We have very few litters per year and keep a small waiting list prior to setting up a breeding. We like
to match up the right dog with the right home! We do not breed to supply the pet trade. This is our hobby. We believe every
generation should be better than the last and we are trying to create and improve on our line. Of course in the process we
have "extra" puppies from time to time. We look for homes that want to be active with the dog we place with them.
Ideal homes for spayed/neutered pets would be involved in some sport such as Agility. A few of our dogs go to Show/Breeding
homes and for that we require a UKC Championship title in conformation as well as complete health testing before the dog is
bred.
Our prices range from 2200 to 3600 depending on the type of contract and quality of dog placed. These dogs are
not for everyone.
They are wonderful at learning tricks, but the most difficult commands to teach an AKK are a solid
"Come" and long "Stay". That being said, they pick up sit, down, load up,and rollover commands usually
very quickly. They are wonderful in Agility! They are bred down from sled dogs, and they will run. They should never be
trusted off lead.
They are escape artists and should never be left outside unattended unless in a VERY SECURE
area. Some are known to climb over 6' chain link fences or tunnel out. You MUST keep them secure. They can escape,
or be stolen as they are a very valuable and rare breed. Think we are kidding? Check out this picture! A friends AKK in a
tree.

The majority of them
are wonderful talkers, although not common there may be the occasional barker. The latter is usually easily corrected with
a citronella collar.
They require a lot of early socialization or they might only bond to their family. There is still
a lot of personality variation within the breed. Some are reserved until older, some will always be reserved with strangers
unless well socialized, and some are as outgoing as can be.
Although they have many "Siberian like" traits
such as talking, they are more protective than Siberians.
I have yet to find any AKK that can not be well socialized
with proper training.
They are very loving family dogs which will usually keep you laughing! They have very little to
no "doggie smell" and require VERY minimal grooming. For example, we normally only bathe our dogs prior to a show.
They do shed heavily for about two weeks twice a year. The rest of the time our dogs shed VERY little. They can be VERY destructive
when young and most AKK owners crate their dogs when they are not at home. Sometimes until they are 2 or 3 years old. The
like to chew wood and plastic so you must "puppy proof" your home. We do suggest the following if you purchase an
AKK from us or any other breeder:
#1 Watch your contracts and never get anything under a one year health guarantee.
Our breed (like all other breeds) has its health issues such patella luxation, cardiac, liver disorders etc. We believe breeders
should stand behind the quality of the pups they are producing. We offer a three year health guarantee. We also highly recommend
pet insurance with any purebred dog.
#2 For socialization plan on Puppy Obedience class, and ideally Good Canine Citizen
class. If you do not have time to socialize your puppy this is NOT the breed for you.
#3 Keep them secure.
#4
Crate train. Helps with poddy training and reduces destructive behavior.
#5 Love them & prepare to be well loved!
